Where It All Started
Back in 2016, I drove past a seamstress needed sign on the window of a local dry cleaners. This was random for me because although id been sewing most of my life, I'd never worked professionally doing alterations! It seemed very intimidating for some reason. I walked in and met the owner, a sweet woman who just needed some extra hands. I started doing pant hems, tapering pant legs, taking in suit jackets, and reconstructing fits. This entire time id never taken in the waistband on a pair of jeans. It would be until 2020 that I began ton truly use the knowledge that Bessie taught me at the cleaners.
After leaving the cleaners I started doing small batch manufacturing and through the years I learned new ways to explore and use my knowledge of sewing. Upon doing that, I revisited alterations and began offering that as well. Over the years I'd continue to take any sewing work that I could manage while being a new mom. For a while the business stayed leveled and certain jobs would help me to stay afloat. Fast forward to 2025, I began making reels about alterations specifically. I had always posted my work on instagram, but word of mouth really carried me! When I finally decided to prioritize content creation, things really began to take form.
As human beings, we all come in different sizes and shapes. It's my job to make jeans fit, and fit well. The one thing I think that we as tailors can capitalize on is the "One Size Fits ALL" dilemma. Denim jeans are the one piece of clothing that millions of people don't feel like they can pull off, just because there aren't any jeans that fit them well. If you want something done right, sometimes you have to build the system yourself.
So I did. I started A Squared Garment Co. with a simple mission: create clothing solutions, work with integrity, and eventually, to teach others to do the same.
From Alterations to Education
Over the years, I kept getting the same questions from clients, friends, and followers: "How do you do that?" and "Can you teach me?"
That's what led me to create the Denim Money: Waistband Reconstruction System — a step-by-step digital guide that teaches you exactly how to reconstruct denim waistbands like a professional. No guesswork. No wasted fabric. Just clear, proven technique.
It's the guide I wish I'd had when I was starting out.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Beautifully curated instruction.
Students are completing waistband reconstructions they never thought possible.
My Teaching Philosophy
I believe sewing education should be practical, accessible, and honest. I don't teach theory for theory's sake — I teach the techniques that actually work in real alterations, on real denim, for real people.
Whether you're a beginner who's never touched a seam ripper or an experienced seamstress looking to add denim work to your skill set, my guides are built to meet you where you are and take you further than you thought you could go.
What Makes These Guides Different
